Mount San Jacinto vs Fullerton

FULLERTON, Calif. (Interstat) — A clash of California junior college men’s basketball powers is set for Saturday when the surging Fullerton Hornets host the Mount San Jacinto Eagles.

The Hornets (11-1), boasting one of the state’s top records, enter the non-conference matchup on a six-game winning streak. Their lone blemish was a 92-86 loss to West Los Angeles on Nov. 19. Since then, Fullerton has relied on a stout defense, allowing an average of just 60.2 points during the streak.

A key catalyst is forward Yoda Oke, who is coming off a 20-point, 10-rebound performance in a 72-58 win over West Los Angeles on Dec. 13. Over his last five games, Oke is averaging 16 points and 9.2 rebounds, providing consistent interior production.

The visiting Eagles (9-4) aim to bounce back from a 71-83 road loss at Copper Mountain on Wednesday. Despite the defeat, Mount San Jacinto showed offensive firepower, with Adrian Mosley scoring 21 points and grabbing eight rebounds. Willie Miller added 19 points and eight boards in the effort.

Mosley has been a standout for the Eagles, who average 84.2 points per game. The team’s offense has been potent, scoring 96 or more points in three of its last five contests, including a 108-point outing against Chaffey on Dec. 13.

This game pits Fullerton’s formidable defense against Mount San Jacinto’s high-scoring attack. The Hornets have held opponents under 60 points in four of their last six games. Containing Mosley and Miller will be critical to extending their win streak.

For the Eagles, slowing Oke and disrupting Fullerton’s rhythm will be essential to securing a statement road victory before opening conference play in January.

The matchup is scheduled for a 6 p.m. PST tipoff at Fullerton College.
