INDEPENDENCE, Kan. (Interstat) — In a frantic men’s junior college basketball game that required overtime to decide, the Independence Pirates outlasted the Seward County Saints 87-83 on Saturday. The contest turned on a dramatic final sequence in regulation. Trailing by two points, Seward County’s Awit Mamer sank a 3-pointer with 20 seconds remaining to give the Saints an 85-83 lead.
