Sacramento City vs Canada (Calif.)
Preview: Sacramento City Panthers at Canada Colts
REDWOOD CITY, Calif. (Interstat) — Two men’s junior college basketball teams seeking momentum will meet Wednesday when the Sacramento City Panthers visit the Canada Colts.
The non-conference matchup, organized by the California Community College Athletic Association, features teams with identical winning percentages. Sacramento City arrives with a 4-7 overall record, while Canada sits at 4-6.
Both teams are looking to rebound from losses last Saturday. Sacramento City fell 84-81 at home to Feather River, a narrow defeat in a high-scoring affair. The Panthers have lost three straight and five of their last six, though their victories this season have shown offensive capability, including a 106-point performance.
Canada is coming off a 99-73 road loss to Butte. That defeat followed the Colts’ most dominant win of the season, a 74-43 victory at Solano on Dec. 11. In that game, sophomore forward Jake Skaggs was a force, logging 33 minutes with 8 points and 11 rebounds. Skaggs, a key player for the Colts, will be a focal point for the Panthers’ defense.
Sacramento City’s season has been marked by volatility, with both high-octane wins and defensive struggles. The Panthers average over 83 points per game in their wins but have allowed 85 or more points in six of their seven losses.
Canada has shown similar inconsistency, with its four wins coming by an average margin of 24 points, while its six losses have been by an average deficit of nearly 14 points. The Colts will look to leverage home court advantage to steady their season.
According to Interstat’s game simulator, this contest is projected to be a dead-even shootout, with a predicted final score of 100-100.
The game is scheduled for a 7 p.m. PST tipoff on Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2025, at Canada College.
For Sacramento City, this begins a stretch of two road games in three days before the holiday break, with a visit to Cosumnes River looming on Dec. 23. Canada will have a quick turnaround, hosting Merced on Saturday, Dec. 20.
