Hot Feather River Aims for Fifth Straight Win Against Struggling Sacramento City

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (Interstat) — The surging Feather River College men’s basketball team will look to extend its winning streak to five games when it visits Sacramento City College on Saturday in a California junior college non-conference matchup.

The Golden Eagles (8-4) enter on a roll, having won four consecutive games by an average margin of 22.3 points. Their most recent victory was a 99-74 rout of American River on Friday. The Panthers (4-6), meanwhile, have lost three of their last four, including a 79-85 defeat to Foothill on Dec. 7.

Feather River’s success has been fueled by a potent offense, scoring 90 or more points in three of its last four outings. A key catalyst is sophomore guard Damonte Duhart, who is coming off a triple-double performance in a win over Mendocino on Dec. 5, where he posted 16 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists. In his previous game, he recorded a double-double with 21 points and 10 rebounds.

Sacramento City will counter with a squad seeking consistency. The Panthers have shown offensive flashes, scoring 106 points in a November win over Los Medanos, but have also allowed 91 points or more in three of their six losses this season. Defensive intensity will be a priority against Feather River’s high-scoring attack.

This game represents the final non-conference tune-up for both teams before league play intensifies in January. Feather River will look to maintain momentum before a tough road stretch, while Sacramento City aims to build confidence at home before its own conference slate begins.

Tip-off is set for Saturday afternoon at Sacramento City College.
