Canyons vs Solano

Preview: Canyons Cougars at Solano Falcons

FAIRFIELD, Calif. (Interstat) — Two California men’s junior college basketball teams looking to build momentum will meet Saturday when the Canyons Cougars visit the Solano Falcons.

The non-conference matchup, scheduled for Dec. 13, 2025, pits a Canyons squad (5-4) on a two-game win streak against a Solano team (3-5) coming off its most impressive victory of the season.

The Cougars arrive following an 83-69 road win at Los Angeles City on Wednesday. Canyons has shown a balanced attack, with three players scoring in double figures in that contest: Thomas Pickens (21 points), Jeremiah Williams (15 points) and Wyatt Wilson (13 points). Wilson, a player to watch, nearly recorded a triple-double, adding 11 rebounds and eight assists.

Wilson has been a consistent all-around force for Canyons. Over his last four games, he is averaging 11 points, 7.5 rebounds and 4.8 assists.

Solano halted a five-game skid with a 68-59 home victory over Fresno City on Dec. 6. That win, part of a modest two-game homestand sweep that included a 69-56 win over Porterville, provided a needed boost for the Falcons, who had struggled defensively in several early-season losses.

The Falcons’ season has been a tale of two performances at home. They are 3-1 in Fairfield, with the lone loss a 47-95 defeat to Cosumnes River. On the road, Solano is 0-4, having lost those contests by an average of 24 points.

Canyons has experienced similar road challenges, posting a 3-3 record away from home compared to a 2-1 mark at home.

According to Interstat’s game simulator, this contest projects as a dead-even affair, with a projected final score of Solano 100, Canyons 100.

For Canyons, this game begins a busy stretch of three contests in five days, including a trip to Napa Valley on Monday. Solano will look to defend its home court before traveling to face Mendocino on Tuesday.
