HOWARD, Texas (Interstat) — The Howard (Tex.) Hawks defeated the North Idaho Cardinal 60-45 in a men’s junior college basketball game Thursday.

The Hawks improved to 10-2 overall, while the Cardinal fell to 7-3. Howard (Tex.) established control with a 33-point first quarter and maintained a double-digit lead throughout. North Idaho’s 31-point second quarter was not enough to close the gap.

Ajayi Simmons led North Idaho with 14 points and six rebounds. Victor Yimga Moukouri paced the Hawks with 13 points and four rebounds. Howard (Tex.) entered the game as a heavy favorite per statistical projections.
