LANCASTER, Calif. (Interstat) — The Copper Mountain Fighting Cacti narrowly defeated the Antelope Valley Marauders 62-58 in a California junior college men’s basketball game Friday.

Copper Mountain built a 22-19 lead after the first quarter and maintained that slim margin throughout, outscoring Antelope Valley 40-39 after halftime to secure the road victory. The win improved the Fighting Cacti’s record to 5-2 this season, while the Marauders fell to 2-5.

Key individual performances included Amado Coleman and Mister Burnside for Antelope Valley, and Amarion Wallace for Copper Mountain. The result defied a pregame statistical projection that heavily favored the Marauders to win.
