SANTA MONICA, Calif. (Interstat) — The Santa Monica College Corsairs will host the Cerro Coso Community College Coyotes in a non-conference men’s junior college basketball game on Friday night.

Both teams will look to build momentum from a difficult start to the season. The Corsairs (3-7) enter on a two-game skid, most recently falling 102-67 at Ventura on Nov. 26. Ka’mari Johnson posted a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds in that loss.

The visiting Coyotes (2-5) snapped a three-game losing streak with an 84-82 home victory over Los Angeles Southwest on Tuesday. Jay Matthews led Cerro Coso with 19 points and seven rebounds.

According to Interstat’s game simulator, the matchup is projected to be a high-scoring affair, ending in a 100-100 tie.

Following Friday’s contest, Santa Monica will host Santiago Canyon on Saturday. Cerro Coso’s next game is at Reedley on Dec. 10.

Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Santa Monica College.
