Pasadena City vs Victor Valley

PASADENA, Calif. (Interstat) — Two teams seeking consistency will meet Friday when the Pasadena City Lancers face the Victor Valley Rams in a men’s junior college basketball game at the Antelope Valley Marauder Tournament.

The Lancers (2-4) enter with momentum from a 97-72 road win over Palo Verde on Nov. 30. Julian Thompkins led the way with 16 points, nine rebounds and five assists in that victory, supported by double-doubles from Donovan Ford and Darrius Freeman.

Victor Valley (1-8) looks to halt a seven-game skid, most recently a 108-82 loss at Bakersfield on Dec. 2. Raoul Churchill scored 23 points in that defeat, with Derrick Hankins adding 18 points and six rebounds.

Both teams have struggled defensively this season. Pasadena City’s four losses have come by an average of 11.5 points, while the Rams’ eight defeats have been by an average margin of 19.4 points. A neutral-court matchup in the California-organized tournament offers each a chance to reset.

A statistical projection from Interstat forecasts a high-scoring 100-100 draw, underscoring the potential for an offensive battle between struggling defenses.

Following the tournament, Pasadena City travels to face Lemoore on Dec. 19. Victor Valley’s next game is at home against San Bernardino Valley on Dec. 13.
