Three Rivers vs John A Logan

CARTERVILLE, Ill. (Interstat) — A recent overtime thriller and a statistical projection pointing to another nail-biter set the stage for Tuesday’s men’s junior college basketball matchup between the Three Rivers Raiders and the John A. Logan Volunteers.

The teams will meet at John A. Logan College, where the Volunteers (4-4) will look to replicate their 95-91 overtime victory at Three Rivers from Nov. 1. The Raiders (9-5) enter with a better overall record but are looking to rebound from a 77-71 road loss to Northeast Mississippi on Saturday.

That defeat snapped a five-game winning streak for Three Rivers. The Raiders are led by forward Antonio Williams, who is coming off a dominant performance in the loss. Williams scored 26 points, grabbed eight rebounds and blocked two shots in 38 minutes. Over his last six games, he is averaging 13.3 points and 7.5 rebounds per contest.

John A. Logan arrives with momentum after a 70-58 road win over Wabash Valley on Saturday. The victory evened their record and provided a boost following a narrow 80-79 loss to Moberly Area on Dec. 7.

The Interstat game simulator forecasts a deadlock, projecting a 100-100 final score. This suggests a potential for another high-scoring affair similar to the first meeting.

For Three Rivers, following Williams, key contributors include Manuel Camboma, who had 16 points and eight rebounds against Northeast Mississippi, and Josiah Cotto, who added nine points and four assists.

Tuesday’s contest is the final game for both teams before a brief holiday break. John A. Logan will host Mineral Area on Dec. 21, while Three Rivers does not play again until hosting Moberly Area on Jan. 7.

Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. CST.
