SAN DIEGO (Interstat) — The Los Angeles Pierce Brahmas look to build on a decisive win when they visit the San Diego Mesa Olympians in a California men’s junior college basketball matchup Wednesday.

Pierce (3-2) is coming off an 82-70 home victory over Los Angeles City on Nov. 19, powered by Andrew Shackelford’s 31 points and 10 rebounds. The Brahmas’ season has been inconsistent, with wins by 35 and 5 points but losses by 17 and 18.

San Diego Mesa (2-5) snapped a four-game skid with a 74-65 road win at Saddleback on Monday. Michael Contreras and Jacob Dallas each grabbed seven rebounds in the victory.

The Olympians have struggled at home, losing two of three games in San Diego this season. Pierce is 1-2 in true road games.

The Brahmas’ upcoming schedule includes a game at Santa Monica on Dec. 10. San Diego Mesa visits Mount San Jacinto on Dec. 10.
