Colby vs Coffeyville
COFFEYVILLE, Kan. (Interstat) — A struggling Colby men’s junior college basketball team will face a stiff road test Saturday against a surging Coffeyville squad in a matchup of Kansas Jayhawk Conference foes.
The game is scheduled for Dec. 13, 2025, at Nellis Hall.
The Colby Trojans (1-8) enter with the worst record in the conference but are coming off their first victory of the season, a 75-70 home win over Cloud County on Dec. 6. Guard D.J. Cason led the way with 20 points and five rebounds in that contest. Cason has been a bright spot, averaging 20 points over his last three games where he has played significant minutes, including a 24-point effort in a loss to Dodge City on Dec. 3.
They will face a Coffeyville Ravens (7-3) team that has won five of its last seven, most recently a 72-68 road victory at Cloud County on Wednesday. Forward Daniel Ntambwe powered that win with 21 points and six rebounds. Ntambwe has been a consistent force, averaging a double-double over his last three games with 17 points and 8.7 rebounds per contest.
The Ravens have shown balance, with Jack Sorrell adding nine points, six rebounds and five assists in the last outing, and Ulysses Webb contributing nine points and four rebounds.
For Colby, support for Cason in the win over Cloud County came from Giannis Asimakopoulos, who scored 18 points off the bench, and Nana Keutcha, who added five rebounds and two assists.
Historically, Coffeyville has dominated the series, winning the last 15 meetings dating back to 2009. The Ravens’ home court has been particularly unkind to the Trojans, where Colby has not won since 2004.
The matchup pits Colby’s search for momentum after a long losing streak against a Coffeyville team aiming to solidify its position near the top of the conference standings. Containing Cason’s scoring burst will be a key focus for the Ravens’ defense, while the Trojans must find a way to counter Ntambwe’s interior presence and Coffeyville’s overall depth to have a chance at the road upset.
Tipoff is set for 4 p.m. local time.
