John A Logan vs Wabash Valley

MOUNT CARMEL, Ill. (Interstat) — Two men’s junior college basketball teams seeking consistency will meet Saturday when the John A. Logan Volunteers visit the Wabash Valley Warriors.

Both teams enter the non-conference matchup with identical 3-6 records across all competitions, though their recent paths have differed. John A. Logan has dropped two straight close contests, including an 87-80 home loss to Vincennes on Wednesday. Prior to that, the Volunteers fell 80-79 at Moberly Area last Sunday. Their last win was a 93-69 home victory over Kankakee on Nov. 25.

Wabash Valley looks to halt a four-game skid, most recently a 78-65 road loss to Kaskaskia on Wednesday. The Warriors’ losing streak includes defeats to Three Rivers, East Mississippi and Northeastern Oklahoma A&M during a challenging stretch. Their last victory came on Nov. 15, a 68-60 home win over Three Rivers.

The Volunteers have shown offensive firepower, scoring 93 and 95 points in two of their wins, but have been prone to defensive lapses. The Warriors have struggled to find scoring rhythm during their slump, failing to reach 70 points in any of their last four games.

This game represents a final tune-up for both squads before the winter break. John A. Logan will host Three Rivers on Dec. 16 in its next outing. Wabash Valley does not play again until hosting Walters State on Jan. 3, 2026.

The teams are scheduled to meet again in a return fixture at John A. Logan on Wednesday, Feb. 4.

Tip-off is set for Saturday, Dec. 13, at Wabash Valley College.
