Western Oklahoma State vs Clarendon

CLARENDON, Texas (Interstat) — The Clarendon College Bulldogs will look to build on their first winning streak of the season when they host the Western Oklahoma State College Pioneers in a non-conference men’s junior college basketball game Saturday.

Tipoff is set for Dec. 13 at Bulldog Gym.

Clarendon (2-6) enters having split its last two contests, following an 81-71 home win over Seminole State (Okla.) on Nov. 20 with a 90-78 home loss to Redlands on Dec. 5. The Bulldogs will seek more consistent production around standout forward KD Davis.

Davis has been a bright spot, averaging 16.3 points and 9.0 rebounds per game over his last three outings. He posted a double-double of 13 points and 10 rebounds in a loss to Trinity Valley on Nov. 15, followed by a 24-point, 8-rebound effort in the win over Seminole State. Against Redlands, he logged 12 points and nine rebounds.

Western Oklahoma State (0-0) opens its 2025-26 season in this contest. The Pioneers have not played a game since March 14, 2024, when they fell 71-63 to Eastern Oklahoma State to conclude their previous campaign. This game marks the debut for a new-look Pioneer squad.

The Bulldogs’ offense, which has averaged 76.6 points per game but allowed 86.1, will test Western Oklahoma State’s early-season defensive cohesion. Clarendon’s two victories this season came at home, suggesting a comfort level at Bulldog Gym.

For Clarendon, this game begins a final stretch of non-conference play before opening its Western Junior College Athletic Conference schedule on Jan. 5 against Midland. Western Oklahoma State starts its season with this lone non-conference matchup before breaking for the holiday period; the Pioneers begin Oklahoma Collegiate Athletic Conference play on Jan. 8 at Northern Oklahoma-Tonkawa.

The matchup presents a contrast in rhythms, with Clarendon aiming to refine its game amid a full schedule and Western Oklahoma State shaking off a long hiatus to start anew.
