Caldwell Tech vs Chattanooga State

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (Interstat) — A clash of hot junior college men’s basketball teams is set for Saturday when the Chattanooga State Tigers host the Caldwell Tech Cobras.

Both squads enter the December 13 matchup riding winning streaks. The Tigers (4-1) have won two straight, most notably a 79-76 road victory over Georgia Highlands last Saturday. The Cobras (3-1) have rebounded from a season-opening loss with three consecutive dominant wins, including a 114-88 rout of Harford on Nov. 30.

The game features a compelling matchup in the frontcourt. Caldwell Tech is powered by Jared Taylor, who is coming off a monster performance. In the win over Harford, Taylor posted 21 points and 12 rebounds. He also scored 19 points against Pellissippi State the afternoon before, demonstrating his consistent high-level production.

Chattanooga State counters with guard Landon Bryant, a key facilitator in their close win at Georgia Highlands. Bryant logged 35 minutes, contributing 11 points, six rebounds and four assists. His backcourt leadership will be crucial against Caldwell Tech’s high-scoring attack.

The Cobras’ offense has been explosive during their streak, averaging over 111 points per game in their last three contests. Alongside Taylor, Jaylen Golston (14 points, 9 rebounds vs. Harford) and Maxwell Coles (11 points, 5 assists) provide significant support.

Chattanooga State’s path has included a tough 110-70 loss to Walters State, but they have otherwise shown resilience, winning tight games on the road. Odell Bradley IV (14 points vs. Georgia Highlands) and Nicholas Long (12 points) offer secondary scoring options.

This contest represents a final tune-up for both teams before demanding road games on Sunday. Caldwell Tech will travel to face Harcum, while Chattanooga State heads to Cape Fear.

Tip-off is scheduled for Saturday at Chattanooga State. The Tigers will look to protect their home court and improve to 5-1, while the Cobras aim to extend their win streak and hand Chattanooga State its second home loss of the season.
