Motlow State vs Albany Tech

Motlow State Bucks Look to Sweep Season Series Against Albany Tech Titans

ALBANY, Ga. (Interstat) — The Motlow State Bucks visit the Albany Tech Titans on Friday in a men’s junior college basketball rematch, aiming to complete a regular-season sweep.

The Bucks (5-4) defeated the Titans (2-3) 98-89 in their first meeting on Nov. 1 in Lynchburg, Tennessee. Friday’s contest at Albany Tech’s home court offers the Titans a chance for redemption.

Motlow State enters following a 61-81 road loss to Calhoun on Monday. Despite the defeat, forward Sagna Ousseynou continued his strong play, scoring 13 points with five rebounds, two assists and two blocks. Ousseynou has been a consistent force, averaging 14.3 points and 9.8 rebounds over his last four games, including a 19-point, 12-rebound performance in a win over Calhoun on Nov. 25.

Albany Tech last played on Nov. 22, securing an 87-74 home victory over Denmark Tech. Guard Tyler Husband led all scorers with 23 points, while Jahki Deloach nearly recorded a triple-double with seven points, nine rebounds and 10 assists.

The Bucks’ season has been marked by offensive surges, including a 105-point outing against Pellissippi State, but also defensive lapses in road losses. The Titans have shown resilience, edging Southern Union State 92-91 earlier in November, but have struggled defensively, allowing an average of 91.6 points in their three losses.

Motlow State’s backcourt, featuring Tarecous Stevens and Tristan Warfield, will look to control the tempo against an Albany Tech squad that shared the ball effectively in its last win. The Titans’ ability to contain Ousseynou in the paint will be critical after he recorded 15 rebounds and three blocks in a recent game.

Following this matchup, Motlow State travels to face South Georgia State on Saturday. Albany Tech will host Santa Fe College the same day.

Tip-off is set for Friday, Dec. 12, at Albany Tech.
