Cape Fear vs Harcum
Harcum Aims to Extend Hot Start Against Cape Fear
BRYN MAWR, Pa. (Interstat) — The Harcum Bears look to continue their strong early-season form when they host the Cape Fear Sea Devils in a men’s junior college basketball matchup on Friday, Dec. 12.
Harcum (4-1) enters the contest riding a three-game winning streak, most recently an 88-59 rout of Baltimore City on Dec. 6. The Bears’ offense has been potent, averaging 86.8 points per game during their current run. Their lone setback was a decisive 83-37 loss to Vincennes on Nov. 8.
A key player for the Bears is guard Nico Pena, who is coming off an efficient 16-point, 4-assist performance in just 20 minutes against Baltimore City. He is supported by a balanced roster, including Nick Williams, who added 13 points and 6 rebounds in the same victory.
The visiting Cape Fear Sea Devils (1-1) have played only twice this season, splitting a pair of games with East Georgia State. They won 77-67 on the road Nov. 1 but dropped an 81-72 decision at home on Nov. 15. The Sea Devils’ most productive players in that loss were Malachi Simpson, Jadyn Cooper and Javon Williams, though specific statistics from the contest were not detailed.
This game represents a significant test for Cape Fear, facing a Harcum squad that has found its rhythm offensively. The Sea Devils will need to contain Pena and manage Harcum’s scoring depth to secure a road upset.
For Harcum, the contest is the first of a busy weekend, with a road game at Brunswick scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 13. Cape Fear will continue its road trip at Chattanooga State on Sunday, Dec. 14.
Tip-off is set for Friday night at Harcum College.
