COALINGA, Calif. (Interstat) — Two struggling teams sharing the Falcons nickname will meet Saturday in a California junior college men’s basketball matchup when Folsom Lake faces Coalinga at the Columbia Classic.

Both squads enter the non-conference game on losing streaks. Folsom Lake (1-4) has dropped four of its first five games, including an 80-85 loss at Butte last Friday. Its lone victory came on the road against Gavilan, 63-60, on Nov. 6.

Coalinga (2-5) is looking to rebound from a 57-94 home defeat to San Mateo this past Tuesday. The team has found wins hard to come by, with its two victories this season coming against Gavilan (62-59) and Hartnell (77-69).

The game will be a neutral-site contest, though it is part of a tournament hosted by Columbia College. Folsom Lake will remain at the venue to face the host school, Columbia (Calif.), on Sunday. Coalinga returns home to host Redwoods the same day.

Saturday’s matchup offers both teams a chance to build momentum before the bulk of their conference schedules begin in January. Tipoff is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 29, 2025.
