CARTERVILLE, Ill. (Interstat) — The Vincennes Trailblazers stayed perfect Wednesday night, holding off the John A Logan Volunteers 87-80 in a men’s junior college basketball game.

Vincennes, now 9-0 overall, used a strong first half to build a cushion. The Trailblazers led 40-37 after a high-scoring first quarter and extended their advantage to 87-80 by the final horn. John A Logan, which fell to 3-4, kept pace offensively but could not overtake the visitors.

The Trailblazers’ balanced attack proved decisive against the Volunteers. The win defied a pregame projection from Interstat that forecast a much closer contest. Vincennes will host Lincoln Trail on Saturday, while John A Logan travels to Wabash Valley.
