Wabash Valley vs Kaskaskia

Preview: Wabash Valley Warriors at Kaskaskia Blue Devils

CENTRALIA, Ill. (Interstat) — Two men’s junior college basketball teams seeking consistency will meet Wednesday when the Wabash Valley Warriors visit the Kaskaskia Blue Devils.

The non-conference matchup, scheduled for Dec. 10, 2025, features a Warriors squad (3-5) looking to snap a three-game skid against a Blue Devils team (1-1) returning from a weeklong break.

Wabash Valley enters following a 71-60 road loss to Three Rivers on Nov. 29, part of a recent stretch where the Warriors have dropped four of their last five. Their offense has struggled during the losing streak, averaging just 61 points per game.

A player to watch for the Warriors is Nazier Leonard. The guard is coming off a strong all-around performance in a Nov. 27 loss to Northeastern Oklahoma A&M, where he posted 13 points, five rebounds and five assists. His production will be key for a Wabash Valley team in need of a spark.

Kaskaskia last played on Dec. 7, falling 92-84 to Missouri State-West Plains. The Blue Devils opened their season with a 91-73 victory over Dyersburg State on Nov. 19, showcasing offensive capability they will aim to rediscover after the narrow defeat.

The Warriors have faced a more demanding early schedule, playing eight games since late October. The Blue Devils, by contrast, have had limited court time, which could factor into the game’s rhythm and conditioning.

This contest is the first of a regular-season home-and-home series between the programs. They are scheduled to meet again at Wabash Valley on Jan. 31, 2026.

For Wabash Valley, this game begins a crucial two-game week before the holiday break, with a home game against John A. Logan looming on Dec. 13. Kaskaskia will hit the road to face Southwestern Illinois that same day.

Tipoff is set for Wednesday night at the Kaskaskia College gymnasium.
