Porterville vs El Camino
EL CAMINO, Calif. (Interstat) — The El Camino Warriors, boasting a winning record, will host the winless Porterville Pirates in a California men’s junior college basketball matchup on Wednesday.
El Camino (5-2) enters the contest following a 63-55 victory over Pasadena City on Nov. 21. Kai Johnson led the Warriors with 20 points in that win, while Justin Cricri nearly recorded a double-double with 10 points and nine rebounds. The Warriors have won four of their last five games.
Porterville (0-5) is seeking its first win of the season after an 89-68 home loss to Los Angeles Southwest on Saturday. Despite the defeat, Jermarcus Brown turned in a strong performance with 20 points and nine rebounds. David Johnson added 17 points.
The Pirates have struggled offensively, failing to score more than 68 points in any game this season. Their defense has also been a concern, allowing an average of over 77 points per contest.
El Camino will look to capitalize on its home court advantage and extend its positive start to the season, while Porterville aims to break into the win column and reverse its early-season fortunes.
Following this game, El Camino travels to face Los Angeles City on Dec. 5. Porterville’s next contest is at San Mateo on Dec. 2.
