HAYS, Kan. (Interstat) — Fort Hays Tech held off Barton 74-71 in a men’s junior college basketball game Tuesday night. The Trailblazers improved to 5-5, while the Cougars fell to 9-4.

Barton led 39-34 after a high-scoring first half but was outscored 40-32 after halftime. Fort Hays Tech secured the home victory despite key performances from Barton’s Majok Chuol and Mikey Williams. Pape Fall led the Trailblazers’ effort.

The game was a narrow reversal of the statistical prediction, which slightly favored Fort Hays Tech. Barton next hosts Garden City on Saturday. Fort Hays Tech travels to face Cowley the same day.
