Missouri State-West Plains vs Kaskaskia

CENTRALIA, Ill. (Interstat) — The Kaskaskia College Blue Devils, fresh off a season-opening victory, will look to continue their early momentum when they host the struggling Missouri State-West Plains Grizzlies in a men’s junior college basketball game Sunday.

The Blue Devils (1-0) tipped off their 2025-26 campaign with a 91-73 win over Dyersburg State on Nov. 19, showcasing a balanced offensive attack. Allen Myers led the way with 24 points and eight rebounds, while Keyon Garrett-Miller and Myles Liddell each added 18 points.

They will face a Grizzlies squad (2-6) that is coming off its best performance of the young season, a 96-88 road win at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M on Tuesday. That victory snapped a five-game losing streak for Missouri State-West Plains, which had endured a difficult opening month. Prior to the win, the Grizzlies’ only other victory was a 116-115 overtime thriller against Butler (Kan.) on Nov. 10.

A player to watch for the visiting Grizzlies is Mekai Lindsey. The guard has shown flashes of productivity, including a 22-minute outing against Butler (Kan.) on Nov. 15 where he scored 11 points, grabbed seven rebounds and dished three assists. His role and minutes have varied, but he represents a key piece for a team seeking consistency.

The game presents a stark contrast in early-season trajectories. Kaskaskia, having played just once, aims to build a foundation for success in conference play, which begins in earnest next month. For Missouri State-West Plains, the contest is an opportunity to build on the confidence gained from its recent road win and string together consecutive victories for the first time this season.

Following this non-conference matchup, Kaskaskia will quickly turn around to host Wabash Valley on Wednesday. Missouri State-West Plains enters an extended break and is not scheduled to play again until a Jan. 10 road game at Moberly Area.

Sunday’s game is scheduled for a 3 p.m. tipoff at the Kaskaskia College gymnasium.
