Moberly Area vs Olney Central
OLNEY, Ill. (Interstat) — The undefeated Moberly Area men’s basketball team will look to extend its perfect start when it visits Olney Central in a junior college matchup Saturday.
The Moberly Area Greyhounds (8-0) enter on an eight-game winning streak, most recently defeating Highland (Ill.) 62-57 on Nov. 29. Their offense has consistently produced, scoring 76 points or more in six of those victories.
The Olney Central Blue Knights (1-4) seek to halt a three-game skid, having lost by 37 points at Mineral Area in their last outing on Nov. 22. Their lone win came against Kennedy-King on Nov. 8.
This contest pits one of the region’s hottest teams against a struggling Blue Knights squad allowing an average of 80.2 points per game in their four losses. Moberly Area has already secured wins over two common opponents, defeating both Southwestern Illinois and Highland (Ill.) earlier this season.
The Greyhounds’ high-powered offense will be tested on the road as they continue a challenging stretch. Olney Central aims to leverage home court to find its footing early in the season.
The teams are scheduled to meet again in Moberly, Missouri, on Jan. 31.
