Eastern Florida State vs Northwest Florida State

Preview: Eastern Florida State Titans at Northwest Florida State Raiders

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Interstat) — A clash of top-tier junior college men’s basketball programs highlights the Tallahassee Shootout on Saturday as the Northwest Florida State Raiders host the Eastern Florida State Titans.

The Raiders (10-1), boasting one of the nation’s premier records, enter as the formidable home side. Their lone loss came against Trinity Valley (77-62) on Nov. 26, but they have since rebounded with dominant victories, including an 89-56 rout of Southern Union State on Dec. 2. In that game, sophomore guard Nigle Cook erupted for 20 points in just 16 minutes, showcasing the explosive scoring depth that has powered Northwest Florida State’s early season.

Eastern Florida State (6-2) aims to bounce back from its most recent outing, an 81-88 road loss to South Georgia Tech on Nov. 22. Prior to that, the Titans had won four straight, including a 90-67 victory at East Georgia State. A key catalyst for the Titans is sophomore forward Nick Oliver, who has provided consistent production. Oliver scored 22 points against Clarendon on Nov. 8 and posted 12 points and 5 rebounds against South Georgia State on Nov. 14.

This neutral-site matchup at the Shootout presents a significant test for both teams’ non-conference résumés. The Raiders’ high-powered offense, which has surpassed 100 points three times this season, will challenge an Eastern Florida State defense that has shown vulnerability in its two losses.

The contest serves as a standalone showcase before each team diverges into its respective conference schedules. Northwest Florida State hosts Polk State on Sunday, while Eastern Florida State’s next game is against East Georgia State on Dec. 15.

Tip-off is set for Saturday, Dec. 6, 2025.
