SWAINSBORO, Ga. (Interstat) — Two men’s junior college basketball teams seeking a turnaround will meet Saturday when the East Georgia State Bobcats host the Richard Bland Eagles in the Bobcat College Classic.

The game at 131 College Circle pits struggling squads. East Georgia State is 1-7 overall, while Richard Bland enters 0-3.

Both teams are coming off narrow defeats last Wednesday. East Georgia State fell 83-80 to USC Salkehatchie despite 20 points from Evan Daniel and a 16-point, 10-rebound double-double from Myles Squirewell. Richard Bland dropped a 96-86 double-overtime decision to Wake Tech.

The Bobcats’ lone win came against Cape Fear on Nov. 15. The Eagles have lost their three games by an average of 8.7 points.

Interstat’s game simulator projects a highly unusual 100-100 final score, suggesting a potentially high-paced and even contest.

East Georgia State will host Brunswick on Sunday. Richard Bland will host South Georgia Tech on Sunday.
