MODESTO, Calif. (Interstat) — The undefeated Modesto Pirates host the Canada Colts in a men’s junior college basketball matchup on Friday.

Modesto (3-0) enters the contest with momentum, having won its first three games by an average margin of 26 points. The Pirates are coming off an 88-71 victory over Monterey Peninsula on Nov. 8.

Canada (2-3) looks to rebound from an 86-79 home loss to the same Monterey Peninsula team on Nov. 14. The Colts’ season has been marked by inconsistency, alternating between high-scoring wins, like a 95-83 victory over San Joaquin Delta, and narrow losses, including an overtime defeat to Merritt.

The game pits Modesto’s stifling defense, which held Foothill to 48 points, against a Canada offense that has shown it can erupt for 90-plus points.

Tipoff is set for Friday night. Modesto travels to Contra Costa on Nov. 25, while Canada’s next game is at Solano on Dec. 2.
