Citrus vs Fullerton

FULLERTON, Calif. (Interstat) — An early-season battle of unbeatens is set for Friday when the Citrus College Owls visit the Fullerton College Hornets in a marquee California men’s junior college basketball matchup.

The Owls (5-0) have been dominant, averaging 104.8 points per game. They are coming off a 102-68 rout of MiraCosta on Tuesday, led by Amiri Meadows’ 26 points and six assists. Rockwell Reynolds added 20 points and six rebounds in just 20 minutes of play.

The Hornets (4-0) have also started strong, though their schedule has featured lower-scoring contests. Fullerton’s defense was on full display in its most recent game, a 91-42 road win over Compton on Nov. 11. Jaqari Miles paced the Hornets with 21 points and nine rebounds in that victory.

While Citrus has won each of its games by at least 10 points, Fullerton has shown a knack for grinding out tighter victories, including a 74-67 win over Yuba and a 59-53 win against West Valley.

Friday’s contest will be a test of Citrus’s high-powered offense against Fullerton’s stifling defense. The winner will emerge as one of the state’s top remaining undefeated teams.
