SALINAS, Calif. (Interstat) — A matchup of teams on opposite trajectories will highlight Friday’s action at the Hartnell Tournament as the host Panthers (0-5) face the De Anza Mountain Lions (3-1) in a men’s junior college basketball game.

De Anza enters the contest riding high, coming off an 85-70 home victory over Coalinga last Saturday. The Mountain Lions’ offense has been potent, averaging over 98 points per game. Key contributors in their recent win included Blake Dibble, who scored 30 points, and Suheib Ibrahim, who added 25 points.

Conversely, Hartnell is searching for its first win of the season. The Panthers are looking to rebound from a 92-71 home loss to Canada College on Nov. 12. They have struggled defensively, allowing an average of 87.6 points through their first five games.

The game is scheduled for a 7 p.m. tipoff at Hartnell College. Following the tournament, De Anza will host Monterey Peninsula on Saturday, while Hartnell is set to face Las Positas.
