North Platte vs Laramie County
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (Interstat) — The North Platte Knights and Laramie County Golden Eagles, two teams seeking consistency, will meet in a men’s junior college basketball matchup Friday night.
Both teams enter with nearly even records. North Platte is 4-4 overall, while Laramie County is 4-5. The Knights won the season’s first meeting, 94-77 at home on Oct. 31.
North Platte looks to bounce back from a 70-62 home loss to Frank Phillips on Nov. 25. Justus Michael led the Knights in that game with 18 points and six rebounds, supported by Brady Kennison’s 15 points.
Laramie County arrives with momentum from a dominant 112-74 victory over Otero on Nov. 29. In that win, TJ Coulter scored a game-high 32 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Karim Elgizawy added 17 points and five assists.
The Knights have shown offensive capability, scoring 88 or more points in four games this season but have lost two straight. The Golden Eagles’ recent results have been volatile, with a 33-point win followed by a 16-point loss in their two outings prior to the Otero rout.
Friday’s contest is the first of a back-to-back for both teams. North Platte travels to face Eastern Wyoming on Saturday, while Laramie County hosts McCook.
