Fullerton vs West Los Angeles
LOS ANGELES (Interstat) — An early-season clash of unbeaten and surging California men’s junior college basketball teams will take place Wednesday when the Fullerton Hornets visit the West Los Angeles Wildcats.
The Hornets (4-0) are off to a dominant start, winning their games by an average margin of 23.5 points. They are coming off a 91-42 road rout of Compton on Nov. 11, where Jaqari Miles led the way with 21 points and nine rebounds. Anthony Smith Jr. and Yoda Oke each added 14 points in the victory.
The Wildcats (4-1) have rebounded strongly from their only loss, a 77-81 defeat at Moorpark on Nov. 14, with two consecutive wins. They defeated Los Angeles Southwest 81-74 on Sunday behind a 22-point, six-assist performance from Titus Morris. Malachi Knight added 17 points and seven rebounds, while Jase Stewart controlled the paint with 14 rebounds.
Wednesday’s matchup will be a test of Fullerton’s stifling defense against a high-scoring West Los Angeles offense that has averaged 82.6 points in its last three outings. The game also serves as a preview of a home-and-home series, as the Wildcats are scheduled to visit Fullerton on Dec. 13.
