(Interstat) — DAYTONA STATE VS. CHIPOLA

Two of the top junior college men’s basketball teams in the region will meet when the Daytona State Falcons face the Chipola Indians on Friday, Dec. 5, 2025, at the Region 8 JUCO Shootout.

Both teams enter the neutral-site contest with identical 7-2 overall records. The matchup features contrasting recent results. Daytona State looks to rebound from a narrow 81-79 road loss to Tallahassee State on Nov. 26, which snapped a two-game win streak. The Falcons have shown a potent offense, scoring over 100 points three times this season, but have also needed overtime to win twice.

Chipola arrives with momentum after an 80-71 home victory over Bishop State on Monday. The Indians have been in several close games, with a 3-1 record in contests decided by five points or less or in overtime. Their two losses came against Trinity Valley (73-59) and South Georgia Tech (78-76 in OT).

The game is a standalone showcase before each team resumes a busy schedule. Daytona State will travel to face Monroe and Hagerstown on Dec. 12-13. Chipola hosts Polk State on Saturday, Dec. 6.
