TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Interstat) — The Tallahassee State Eagles, riding a five-game winning streak, will host the Hillsborough Hawks in a men’s junior college basketball matchup on Friday, Dec. 5, at the Florida Shootout.

Tallahassee State (7-1) has found consistent success in close games, with four of its wins coming by three points or fewer. They are led by Shane Cherry, who posted a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds in a 79-66 win over South Georgia Tech on Monday.

Hillsborough (2-2) looks to rebound from a 72-81 loss at Northwest Florida State on Nov. 15. In that game, guard Nicholas Womack scored a team-high 18 points and dished out six assists. Forward Wylde Correa added 10 rebounds.

The Hawks have shown offensive firepower, scoring 99 points in a win over Southern Crescent on Nov. 14, but face a tough test against an Eagles squad that has defended its home court effectively this season.

The game is part of the Florida Shootout tournament being held in the state capital.
