SAN JOSE, Calif. (Interstat) — Two of the California Community College Athletic Association’s early-season men’s basketball standouts will clash Tuesday when the undefeated Diablo Valley Vikings visit the San Jose Jaguars.

The Vikings (2-0) have opened their season with a pair of decisive victories, most recently a 107-66 rout of Coalinga on Nov. 12. Brandon Earl led the offensive explosion with 27 points and eight rebounds, while Jacob Harvey dished out eight assists and Tyler Robbins controlled the paint with 10 rebounds and a block.

San Jose (3-1) looks to bounce back on its home court after its first loss of the season, an 87-75 defeat to Compton on Nov. 1. The Jaguars have since responded with three consecutive wins, including a 75-64 victory over Feather River in their last outing on Nov. 8.

Tuesday’s contest will be a test of Diablo Valley’s high-powered offense against a San Jose squad that has found its defensive footing during its winning streak. The matchup is the start of a tough stretch for both teams, with Diablo Valley hosting Fresno City on Friday and San Jose traveling to face Allan Hancock.
