COAHOMA, Miss. (Interstat) — The Coahoma Tigers will look to build on a season-opening win when they host the winless Meridian Eagles in a men’s junior college basketball game on Thursday.

Coahoma (1-0) began its season with a 95-81 road victory over Northwest Mississippi on Nov. 13. Andres Demoya and Dee Robison each scored 20 points in the win, with Ahmed Ibrahim adding an 11-point, 10-rebound double-double.

Meridian (0-2) seeks its first win after falling 70-65 at Delgado in its most recent outing on Nov. 13. Derek Byrd Jr. led the Eagles with 15 points and five rebounds in that contest. Meridian opened its season with an 84-59 loss at Mississippi Gulf Coast on Nov. 10.

The game is the final tune-up for both teams before conference play resumes in January. Coahoma’s next game is at home against Southwest Tennessee on Dec. 10. Meridian travels to face Holmes on Dec. 11.

The teams will meet again in Meridian on Feb. 2.
