(Interstat) — A showdown of unbeaten Snow and host South Plains highlights Thursday’s slate at the Texan Classic men’s junior college basketball tournament.

The ranked Snow Badgers (8-0) put their perfect record on the line against the South Plains College Texans (4-1) in a non-conference clash at 7 p.m. Thursday.

Snow arrives with momentum, having defeated then-Northwest College 79-67 on Nov. 29. Brock McClure led the way with 16 points and 14 rebounds, while McCaden Adams added 14 points. The Badgers’ high-powered offense has scored 80 or more points in seven of their eight wins.

South Plains, whose only loss was an 84-82 defeat to Dodge City on Nov. 11, is coming off a 96-88 victory over Temple on Nov. 22. Zion Pipkin exploded for 32 points and six assists in that win.

A Interstat game simulator projects a nail-biter, forecasting a 100-100 tie.

The game is the first of two for each team in the classic. Snow will face Lamar on Friday, while South Plains hosts Hill College.
