(Interstat) — A clash of starkly different trajectories headlines junior college men’s basketball on Thursday as the undefeated Midland Chaparrals visit the winless Temple Leopards.

Midland (10-0) enters riding a wave of dominance, averaging 89.5 points in its last two contests. The Chaparrals are coming off a 91-60 rout of Weatherford on Monday, led by Antoine Bo Hurns (19 points, 7 rebounds, 3 blocks) and Cayden Reed (10 points, 8 assists). Their perfect start includes road wins over Grayson, Pearl River and Blinn.

Temple (0-3) seeks its first victory after a narrow 96-88 road loss to South Plains on Nov. 22. In that game, Roy Gardner scored 27 points and Jonty Kells dished 10 assists. The Leopards’ defense, allowing 86.3 points per game, will be tested by Midland’s high-powered attack.

The Chaparrals have won their games by an average margin of 19.1 points. Temple’s losses have been by an average of 11.7 points.

Tip-off is set for Thursday at Temple’s home venue.
