(Interstat) — In a game defying pregame projections, the Independence Community College Pirates edged the Fort Hays Tech Trailblazers 85-83 in a tense men’s junior college basketball matchup Wednesday night. Interstat’s ELO system had given the host Trailblazers a 69 percent probability to win, but the Pirates leveraged a dominant performance on the offensive glass and capitalized on Fort Hays Tech turnovers to secure the narrow road victory.
