COFFEYVILLE, Kan. (Interstat) — Two of the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference’s early-season contenders will meet Wednesday when the Coffeyville Ravens visit the Cowley Tigers in a men’s junior college basketball game.

The Ravens (6-1) enter on a three-game winning streak, most recently defeating Barton 84-77 on Saturday. Jack Sorrell (21 points) and Konstantin Popovic (20 points) led a balanced offensive effort in that victory.

The Tigers (5-2) are also coming off a win, having topped Colby 78-66 on the road Saturday. Marcus Smith paced Cowley with 18 points and five assists in the contest.

Coffeyville’s lone loss came against Butler (Kan.) on Nov. 19. Cowley’s two defeats are against Dodge City and Murray State (Okla.), both by single digits.

The matchup features two of the conference’s top backcourts. Coffeyville’s Sorrell and Popovic combine for consistent scoring, while Cowley’s Smith and Leslie Owens Jr. provide a similar punch for the Tigers.

Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m. at Cowley College.
