DODGE CITY, Kan. (Interstat) — Derrick Rivers scored 24 points to lead Dodge City past Colby 86-79 in a men’s junior college basketball game Wednesday. The Conquistadors used a 49-point first quarter to build a lead the Trojans could not overcome.

Colby’s D.J. Cason matched Rivers with 24 points. Dodge City shot 53% from the floor and made 26 free throws, while Colby shot 38.5%. The Conquistadors improved to 9-3, and the Trojans fell to 0-8.
