SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. (Interstat) — Two California junior college men’s basketball teams seeking their first win in nearly two weeks will meet Friday when the Compton Tartars face the San Bernardino Valley Wolverines in the Alvin Hunter Classic.

Both teams enter the non-conference matchup on losing streaks. Compton (1-3) has dropped three straight since a season-opening victory, including a 91-42 loss to Fullerton on Tuesday. Keyshawn Ross Jr., Elijah Evans and Rey Daniel were the most productive players for the Tartars in that defeat.

San Bernardino Valley (0-2) is also looking for its first win of the season. The Wolverines are coming off a 114-77 loss to Citrus on Nov. 7 and a narrow 82-79 defeat against Pasadena City on Nov. 4.

The game will be the first of a ten-game slate for both teams before conference play begins in January. Compton will travel to face East Los Angeles on Nov. 21, while San Bernardino Valley will host Santa Monica on Nov. 20.

Tip-off is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 14, 2025.
