OAKLAND, Calif. (Interstat) — The unbeaten Ohlone College Renegades will put their perfect record on the line Friday when they visit the Merritt College Thunderbirds in a men’s junior college basketball matchup.

Ohlone (4-0) enters the contest following a dominant 93-66 home victory over Hartnell on Tuesday. The Renegades’ high-powered offense has averaged 83.8 points per game this season, with their closest contest being a 93-85 road win against Solano on Nov. 7.

The Merritt Thunderbirds (2-0) have also started their season undefeated, but have done so in nail-biting fashion. Merritt edged Skyline 75-74 on Nov. 7, following a 91-85 overtime win against Canada College on Nov. 5.

The game, organized by the California Community College Athletic Association, will tip off at 7 p.m. on Nov. 14 at Merritt College. The matchup features two of the region’s early-season unbeatens, with the Renegades’ offensive firepower testing the resilience of the Thunderbirds.
