SAN MATEO, Calif. (Interstat) — The San Joaquin Delta Mustangs and the Cuesta Cougars will look to get their men’s junior college basketball seasons on track when they meet Friday in a California Community College matchup at the San Mateo Tournament.

The Mustangs (1-1) enter the contest looking to bounce back from an 83-95 road loss to Canada College on Nov. 7. Their season began with an 80-62 home victory over Gavilan on Nov. 2.

Cuesta (0-4) is still in search of its first win. The Cougars are coming off a 62-76 loss at Foothill on Wednesday. Their season has been marked by defensive struggles, having allowed an average of 86.3 points per game through their first four contests, including a 94-53 home loss to College of the Sequoias on Nov. 8.

The neutral-site game at the San Mateo Tournament offers both teams an opportunity to build momentum before returning to their respective conference schedules later in the month.

Tip-off is set for Friday, Nov. 14, 2025.
