Southwestern Illinois vs State Fair
SEDALIA, Mo. (Interstat) — The State Fair Community College Roadrunners will look to capitalize on their home court and snap a two-game skid when they host the winless Southwestern Illinois College Blue Storm in a men’s junior college basketball game on Saturday.
State Fair (2-4) is coming off a 72-80 road loss to Highland (Ill.) on Friday. The Roadrunners were led in that contest by Daniel Garza, who scored 15 points, grabbed 5 rebounds and dished 4 assists. JP Ndong added a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds.
Southwestern Illinois (0-2) last played on Nov. 19, falling 61-77 to Mineral Area College. The Blue Storm’s season began with a 97-83 loss to Moberly Area on Nov. 11. They have had a 10-day layoff since their last outing.
The matchup pits a struggling Roadrunners’ defense against a Blue Storm team searching for its first victory of the young season. State Fair will aim to improve its record before embarking on a two-game road trip next week, with games at Southeast Missouri and Olney Central. Southwestern Illinois does not play again until a Dec. 10 road game at Shawnee.
