Cowley vs Colby
COLBY, Kan. (Interstat) — The Cowley College Tigers look to continue their winning momentum when they visit the struggling Colby College Trojans in a men’s junior college basketball matchup Saturday at the Colby Event Center.
Cowley (4-2) enters the contest off a high-scoring 95-89 home victory over Cloud County on Tuesday. Marcus Smith led the Tigers with 29 points, while Kyden Thompson and CJ Majors each added 13 points. The win showcased an offense that has topped 90 points twice this season, including a 102-point performance against Northern Oklahoma-Tonkawa on Nov. 11.
Conversely, Colby (0-6) is still searching for its first win after a narrow 73-70 road loss to Barton on Tuesday. Despite the defeat, D.J. Cason poured in 20 points and Nana Keutcha grabbed 10 rebounds for the Trojans. Colby has struggled defensively, allowing an average of 89.5 points per game.
The teams appear headed in opposite directions, but a projection from Interstat’s game simulator suggests a potential thriller, forecasting a 100-100 tie.
Saturday’s game tips off a key stretch for both Kansas junior college programs as they navigate their conference schedules.
