GRANDIN, Mo. (Interstat) — The East Mississippi Lions and Northeastern Oklahoma A&M Golden Norseman will look to build on contrasting recent results when they meet in a men’s junior college basketball matchup Saturday at the Bank of Grandin Thanksgiving Classic.

East Mississippi (4-2) enters the contest looking to rebound from a 88-72 road loss to Three Rivers on Thursday. The Lions had won three of their first four games, including a season-opening 79-46 victory over Baton Rouge, before the defeat.

Northeastern Oklahoma A&M (2-4) arrives with momentum after snapping a four-game skid with a 70-58 road win over Wabash Valley on Thursday. Prior to that victory, the Golden Norseman’s only other win was a 97-79 decision against Missouri State-West Plains on Nov. 12.

The game will be the final tournament outing for both teams before they return to their respective schedules next week. East Mississippi will host Shelton State on Monday, while Northeastern Oklahoma A&M will host Missouri State-West Plains on Tuesday.
