RANGELY, Colo. (Interstat) — The Northeastern (Colo.) Plainsmen defeated the Colorado Northwestern Spartans 85-61 in a men’s junior college basketball game on Saturday.

Northeastern seized control early, building a 43-26 lead by the end of the first quarter and never looked back. Keziah Williams led the Plainsmen with a double-double, scoring 12 points and dishing out 12 assists. Trey Johnson was the top scorer for the Spartans with 16 points. The win improves Northeastern’s record to 2-4, while Colorado Northwestern falls to 2-6. The result was an upset, as statistical models had favored the Spartans to win.
