Butler (Kan.) vs Pratt

PRATT, Kan. (Interstat) — The Butler (Kan.) Grizzly Bears look to rebound from a narrow loss when they visit the struggling Pratt Beavers in a men’s junior college basketball game Tuesday at Beaver Dome.

Butler (5-3) is coming off a heartbreaking 83-82 home defeat to Hutchinson this past Saturday. The Grizzly Bears were led in that contest by Devin Kerr, who scored 18 points and recorded five rebounds and three blocks, and Josiah Kirkwood, who added 17 points and four assists. Prior to that loss, Butler’s offense was potent, averaging over 107 points in its previous three victories.

They face a Pratt team still searching for its first win, sitting at 0-4 to start the season. The Beavers are also looking to bounce back from a 10-point road loss to Garden City on Saturday. Seydina Faye and Hunter Vaughn each scored 20 points in the effort, with Faye securing a double-double by adding 11 rebounds.

Despite the contrasting records, a projection from Interstat suggests a tightly contested matchup, simulating a 100-100 final score.

Tuesday’s game is the first of a two-game road trip for Butler, which will next face Fort Hays Tech on Saturday. Pratt begins a three-game road stretch at Independence on the same day.
