INDEPENDENCE, Kan. (Interstat) — The Hutchinson Community College Blue Dragons, riding the momentum of a last-second victory, visit the Independence Community College Pirates in a men’s junior college basketball matchup Tuesday at Oakes Family Fieldhouse.

Hutchinson (4-2) arrives after a nail-biting 83-82 road win over Butler (Kan.) on Saturday. Daleron Thomas led the Blue Dragons with 20 points in that contest, supported by Asher Boney’s 14 points and Chudier Dorar’s 10 points and seven rebounds. The win helped Hutchinson rebound from a home loss to Garden City earlier in the week.

Independence (1-3) looks to stabilize after a 99-76 road loss to Coffeyville on Saturday. In that game, David Wilson paced the Pirates with 17 points, while Sterling Knox added 15 points and four assists. The Pirates’ lone victory this season came against Colby on Nov. 19, where they scored 102 points.

Despite the disparity in records, a statistical projection from Interstat forecasts a tightly contested game, simulating a 100-100 final score.

The game tips off at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2025.
