Roane State vs Georgia Highlands

ROME, Ga. (Interstat) — The Georgia Highlands Chargers will tip off their 2025-26 men’s basketball season on Tuesday, Nov. 25, against the Roane State Raiders in the Walters State Classic.

The Chargers, who have not played a competitive game since a 61-54 loss to Trinity Valley on March 24, 2024, face a Roane State squad that has found its rhythm after an uneven start. The Raiders (4-3) enter the contest on a three-game winning streak, including a 78-70 road victory over Dyersburg State this past Saturday.

Roane State’s early season was marked by a pair of lopsided defeats, falling to Walters State 100-69 and Caldwell Tech 108-66. However, the team has since rebounded with consecutive wins, showcasing improved defense by holding its last three opponents to an average of 63.7 points per game.

This neutral-site matchup presents a classic contrast between a team opening its season and one seeking to extend its momentum. The Raiders will look to capitalize on their recent game experience, while the Chargers aim to shake off any rust in their first official action in over 19 months.

Following this contest, Roane State will face Southern Crescent on Wednesday, while Georgia Highlands is scheduled to play at Walters State.
